The Worshipful Company of Carmen Benevolent Trust CIO (Registered Charity No. 1164687) is the Company's charitable arm and a key focus of activity for all members.
There are seven Trustees, all of whom are Liverymen of the Company. They are appointed by the Court having regard to a list of recommended persons supplied by the existing Trustees.
The Trustees meet four times each year to manage the charity and to consider appeals. The 2017 dates are:
Tuesday 24 January 2017
Tuesday 25 April 2017
Tuesday 11 July 2017
Tuesday 17 October 2017
Appeals must be received ten working days before the meeting.
We welcome all appeals but regret that, because of the number received, we are unable to acknowledge each when received. All successful applicants will be notified within ten working days of the meeting, but we are unable to advise unsuccessful applicants.
To make an appeal, please write or e-mail us with as much information as possible as to why you need a grant, how much is required and what it will be used for.
The Trustees carefully consider all appeals for help but ask applicants to appreciate that we are first and foremost the City of London's Livery Transport Charity.
The Trust supports many causes, focusing on the relief of individual suffering or disability within the industry and charitable causes in the City, education, health and transport. The key objective when deciding what to spend is to 'give a little where a little means a lot'.

The Trustees welcome the Master Carman to their Febrary 2016 meeting.
