The Kings Cross Station Redevelopment
The Kings Cross station redevelopment is the catalyst for one of the largest regeneration schemes in Europe. The beautiful Victorian structure has been renovated and the original facade of the Grade 1 listed building revealed for the first time in 150 years. A new 75,000 sq ft square now welcomes passengers to the station. Designed by Lewis Cubitt in 1852 the station has been restored with original features in partnership with English Heritage. The result is an expanded transport hub ready to handle the ever-increasing numbers of railway passengers.

York National Railway Museum
In recognition of the far-sighted vision to bring together the six classmates of A4 Steam Locomotive Mallard from all around the World celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the steam passenger train world speed record of 126mph which Mallard and the UK still holds today. Fundamental to the success of the project was the significant, carefully planned logistics operation in safely transporting the six 80 year old locomotives including one from the US and one from Canada, to York and the massive international co-operation and the ‘in kind’ support from many benefactors that enabled the Mallard 75 project to be completed on time and on budget. In all 244,455 people attended the two ‘great gatherings’ of the six locomotives in York and provided income of £1m to the Science Museum Group.
